There’s never a dull day in Pakistan! After a lot of speculation regarding the appointment of the head coach for the national team, Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s cricket chief, declared on Monday that the new head of the national team will be appointed within the next ten days.
In light of the impending T20 World Cup in the United States and Caribbean islands, Mohsin acknowledged that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was in a hurry to appoint a head coach and finalize the rest of the coaching team.
Naqvi stated that the Board will now bring in the “best possible” person, either foreign or local, to take charge of Pakistan’s misfiring team ahead of the assignment in the Americas. It is understood that the PCB has been searching for a foreign coach after firing Mickey Arthur following Pakistan’s World Cup disappointment last year.
“I assure you that we will appoint the head coach within the next one week or ten days,” Naqvi told reporters on the sidelines of the HBL PSL final between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United.

While highlighting that Shane Watson of Australia was forced to withdraw from the competition for the position of Pakistan coach due to leaks and false information, Naqvi declined to provide any information regarding the new appointment.
“Some false reports (about the appointment of the coach) caused a lot of harm to Pakistan cricket,” he said.
