Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer on Sunday played the first intra-squad practice match. However, Iyer did not appear to be in a peach of a form as he scored 22 off 19 balls. The KKR captain did not look too confident as he gave away his wicket to KKR spinner Suyash Sharma after struggling in the middle for a while.
Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday played their first practice match of the season. Two teams, divided as Team Purple and Team Gold, saw many stars playing including Phil Salt, Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana, Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer.
Team Gold, which consisted of Rinku Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, Phil Salt batted first and scored 237 runs in the first innings. Shreyas was the captain of Team Purple. Chasing 238, Shreyas Iyer came to bat at number 3, but struggle to get himself going. Iyer tried to take the pacers on but couldn’t quite connect the shots.

After a scratchy knock, Shreyas tried to come down the pitch and heave Suyash Sharma for a six but missed the ball. He was stumped quite easily by the wicketkeeper. KKR fans watching the match would be far from satisfied seeing Shreyas bat. They would hope he brings his A-game once the IPL starts.
