Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara will continue to be the head coach of Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). Sangakkara joined the Rajasthan team management in 2021 as the Director of Cricket Operations and took over the responsibilities of head coach after Andrew McDonald parted ways with the franchise ahead of IPL 2021.
Rajasthan Royals who won the inaugural IPL have failed to repeat their antics of 2008 so far. Under head coach Sangakkara’s guidance, RR will be looking to clinch their second IPL title this time around.
Rajasthan Royals head coach & support staff
Apart from Sangakkara, former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond will replace Lasith Malinga as Rajasthan Royals bowling coach in IPL 2024. Bond will also serve as assistant coach in the RR camp. Former RR wicket-keeper Dishant Yagnik will serve as the fielding coach of the Rajasthan Royals.
Rajasthan Royals do not have a batting coach appointed in their camp. For RR, Amol Muzumdar was the last person to be in charge as batting coach in IPL 2020. After the appointment of Sangakkara, the veteran batter seems to take care of the role alongside his head coach duties.
