Blow for Mumbai Indians, Rs 4.6 crore pacer set to miss start of IPL 2024

Mumbai Indians have suffered a blow as Sri Lanka pacer Dilshan Madushanka has sustained an injury and will miss start of IPL 2024

Mumbai Indians (MI) are one man down heading into IPL 2024. Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka will miss few games at the start of IPL as he recovers from an injury. The pacer is ruled out of SL’s final ODI against Bangladesh after sustaining an injury during the 2nd ODI.

MI pacer set to miss start of IPL 2024

Dilshan Madushanka will not further take part in the ongoing tour as the bowler will return to start rehabilitation work after suffering an injury during the 2nd ODI. Madushanka, who left the field during the second ODI while bowling, has suffered a left hamstring injury, as confirmed by an MRI scan performed on the player,” Sri Lanka Cricket informs.

Madushanka was bagged by MI for Rs 4.6 cr at IPL 2024 auction in December 2023. Madushanka is anticipated to be sidelined for several weeks. The left-arm pacer left the field during the 27th over of Bangladesh’s innings, departing after completing 6.4 overs of bowling.
