Ex-India chief selector predicts death of RCB’s bowling at ‘graveyard’ Chinnaswamy

Former India chief selector K Srikkanth comes down heavily on RCB's bowling line-up ahead of IPL 2024 and predicts a massive failure

Former India cricketer Krishnamachari Srrikanth tears into Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowling line-up ahead of IPL 2024. Srikkanth had earlier ctiticised the side for their strategy at IPL 2024 auction. The former selector believes that RCB’s bowling will be mauled down in the ‘graveyard’ Chinnaswamy stadium.

Srikkanth gives thumbs down for RCB’s bowling line-up for IPL 2024

In a video on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth – along with analyst Prasanna – explain why RCB’s bowling looks too weak. Cheeka points out that the team’s strategy when it comes to picking bowlers has been miserable over the last ten years. He adds that the likes of Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson, Tom Curran and Reece Topley wont comprise of a strong bowling unit at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Chinnaswamy stadium is such a graveyard (for bowlers) that sometimes even if you bowl extremely well, you will concede 45 runs in four overs. Then you can imagine how much the other bowlers will concede,” Prasnna tells Srikkanth.

Known for its short boundaries, the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru is fondly known as the nightmare spot for bowlers. The fact that former RCB spinner Yuzvendra Chahal manages to have the best economy when it comes to games in Bengaluru is something that will haunt the side further. As per Srikkanth, the likes of Akash Deep and Mohammad Siraj will just not be enough for the side.
