Australian batters Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green are set to prioritise IPL 2024 over Sheffield Shield final. With IPL starting on March 22nd, Green and Marsh were always a doubt for Western Australia’s Sheffield Shield final. They will play Tasmania in the final starting on March 21 at the WACA. It now looks like both Green and Marsh will head to India before the start of IPL. They will be part of their respective squads on the first matches of their teams.
Mitchell Marsh is expected to play a major part in Delhi Capitals’ IPL campaign. Delhi Capitals start their IPL campaign against Punjab Kings on March 23rd. Marsh has been quite busy with international commitments this season and hasn’t played a domestic match. The IPL will act as a preparation for the T20 World Cup in June this year for players around the world. Marsh is almost certain to lead the Australia side in the World Cup.
As for Cameron Green, he has played two domestic matches this season but will head to India before the final. He will be unavailable for the Sheffield Shield final. The IPL will come as a litmus test for Green. He will be looking to provide some power-packed performances for Royal Challengers Bangalore to book his slot in Australia’s team for the T20 World Cup.
