There have been a few pluses in RCB’s campaign in WPL 2024, as they made it to the playoffs for the first time, after missing out the first year. Be it Elysse Perry’s all around show, or even Richa Ghosh, with the bat, or behind the stumps. In eight matches, the team has managed to produce eight wins, that took them to the next round.
Talking about Ghosh, the 20-year-old as been exceptional in the tournament with her 226 runs, at a strike-rate of 152.7. She has already played 44 T20Is for India, and she showed glimpses of what’s to come in future, this WPL. Perry not only commended Ghosh on her rich show, but also predicted a bright international future for the Indian.
WPL Star Could be Future Star for India
“She (Richa) is amazing, I absolutely love her, she is always smiling, laughing,” Perry said during the media interaction on Wednesday. “She contributes so much to the team. She is so supportive of her team and plays phenomenal behind the stumps.
“She has affected so many key moments across by stumping and catching and then with the batting. Scary to think that she is so young because I think she got an amazingly bright future ahead of her, not just in WPL but also in International cricket when she plays India.”
Perry went on to highlight the general mood in the dressing room, and why the team has been able to achieve so much. “In the dressing room and as well as on the field there has been lots of smiles and huge focus to just go out there and enjoy because it’s a pretty special tournament and the crowd has been amazing from five matches which were super special and now being here in Delhi is just been a really great chance for the group to spend more time together,” she added.
