The countdown for the IPL 2024 has begun. With less than two weeks left before their first match, the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad has started to assemble. Their skipper, Hardik Pandya, made his way into the MI dressing room for the first time since 2021, while South African pace bowling menace Gerald Coetzee has made his way to Mumbai as well.
Although the franchise has already unveiled its jersey for the 2024 season, this is the first time the players are donning it. In the short video released by the Mumbai Indians, we can see Shreyas Goyal, Nehal Wadhera, and Coetzee receive their brand-new MI jerseys.
Star players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ishan Kishan are yet to join the pre-season camp.
Rohit and Bumrah, who were part of the recently concluded India vs England Test series, may join the Mumbai Indians after a while. Currently under rehabilitation at the NCA in Bengaluru, Suryakumar will only join the franchise once he’s been given a clean bill of health by the BCCI, while Kishan might soon join skipper Hardik Pandya at the camp.
