Nitish Rana’s all-round show helps DYP Red lift the DY Patil T20 Cup

Nitish Rana was on fire on Saturday. The southpaw scored 38 runs and took two wickets as Income Tax proved no match for Red.

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Nitish Rana shone with both the bat and the ball as DY Patil Red clinched the DY Patil T20 Cup beating Income Tax by 48 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday. The DY Patil Red scored a huge 221 runs in the first innings. In reply, Income Tax were thwarted for 173 runs.

Income Tax won the toss and chose to field first. Red openers Siddharth Patidar and Aman Khan got their team to a flying start with a quick partnership of 70 runs for the opening wicket. After the good start, Nitish Rana and Abdul Samad played crucial innings of 38 and 32 respectively to help DY Patil Reds reach a commanding total to 221/9 in 20 overs.

In reply, the Income Tax chase never really took off with team struggling for momentum throughout their innings. Sheldon Jackson and Anuj Rawat played counter-attacking knocks but it wasn’t enough as the team fell short by 48 runs in the end.
