Suresh Raina – Suresh Raina is another CSK faithful. He has been a part of the Chennai franchisee since 2010 and has stayed till 2019. Though he has always been a faithful, over the years he has served as the deputy for MS Dhoni.

Only in 6 occasions has Suresh Raina captained CSK. These have primarily been the case when MS Dhoni was unavailable in the games. Raina managed to win 2 games, ended up losing 3 matches while the solitary game was tied.

Ravindra Jadeja – One of the newest players to don the CSK captaincy was the able all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja. Back before the start of IPL 2022, MS Dhoni decided to leave CSK’s captaincy. Jadeja was next in line to take the coveted role.

However, Jadeja’s rein as the captain of CSK was far from perfect. In fact CSK has a horrible outing. Jadeja managed to win just 2 matches and lost the remaining 6 games. Finally, he got injured, gave up his captaincy and missed the remainder of the season. Who took captaincy? Of course it had to be MS Dhoni, back to his normal role as CSK went on to bag a title the next season.

Ruturaj Gaikwad – CSK will play in IPL 2024 with a new captain, as their most successful skipper, Dhoni, handed over the responsibility to the young player. Ruturaj has experience leading the Indian cricket team in the Asian Games 2023, where they won the gold medal.
