Former England batter Nick Knight on Thursday heaped praises on Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Kuldeep on Thursday produced a mesmerising spell to take a fifer as England were bundled out for 218 in the first day of the IND vs ENG 5th Test.
Kuldeep was on song right from the start, scalping five wickets of the first six to put England on the backfoot. The spinner started by removing England opener Ben Duckett then proceeded to take the wickets of Ollie Pope, Jonny Bairstow, Zak Crawley and Ben Stokes to end England’s resistance in the first session of Day 1.
The England batters had a hard time picking Kuldeep who mixed his balls very well. While Pope got out unable to read a wrong one from Kuldeep, set batter Crawley gave away his wicket to a ball that came into him.

Former England batter Nick Knight praised Kuldeep’s unpredictability and complemented Rohit Sharma for his field placing on the first day of the IND vs ENG 5th Test.
“If I was Kuldeep, I’m thinking in my mind ‘the England batters dont pick me very well.’That’s a real lift for him as a bowler. He is really able to express himself very well with the variety. His control is so important because he is not giving the batters much room. He’s coming at the batters. Rohit has helped him as well by putting fielders around the batters. The combination of Rohit’s captaincy and Kuldeep’s bowling is terrific,” Knight said on Jio Cinema in Tea break.
