Good news for LSG, KL Rahul begins rehab at NCA ahead of IPL 2024 comeback

KL Rahul has been out since the IND vs ENG 1st Test with a quadriceps injury. Once cleared by the NCA, he'll join the LSG pre-season camp.

Good news for LSG! Their skipper and best batter, KL Rahul, has started his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Having suffered a quadriceps injury after the first Test of the India vs England series in January, Rahul has been out of action since.

Last month, India head coach Rahul Dravid claimed that KL was 90% fit and would be ready for the last two Tests. However, the wicketkeeper batter has since missed the remaining matches of the series and traveled to London to consult a specialist with the IPL 2024 in mind.

Having returned to India, KL Rahul has traveled to Bengaluru, where his fitness will be assessed by experts. If and when the batter is cleared, he’ll join the Lucknow Super Giants pre-season camp. While the IPL 2024 season itself is an important event for him, having missed it due to injury last year, his main goal will be to make the cut for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Rahul has been out of India’s T20 team since November 2022. With the opening spots booked by Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill, the LSG skipper may look to bat in the middle order in the upcoming IPL 2024 season and look to break into the international side once again.
