Real Madrid will be without the services of their top scorer, Jude Bellingham until the end of the month, with Bellingham being suspended by La Liga. The League committee has rejected the defending champion’s appeal against the red card he received after the controversy during the game against Valencia.
Why was Jude Bellingham handed a red card in Real Madrid vs Valencia?
In the 99th minute, Bellingham directed the ball into the back of the net, seemingly securing a 3-2 victory for Los Blancos. However, just one second prior, referee Jesus Gil Manzano blew the full-time whistle, much to the dismay of the English midfielder and his teammates. Displaying visible fury, Bellingham approached Gil Manzano and was subsequently sent off.
Real Madrid has lodged an appeal against the decision, asserting its belief that it was unjustified. However, the Competition Committee holds a contrary opinion. According to reports from Diario AS, the suspension will remain in place, despite Real Madrid’s objections.
