Indian men’s hockey team’s Paris 2024 schedule out, to start campaign vs NZ on July 27

2020 Tokyo bronze medalists, Team India will begin their Paris 2024 journey against New Zealand on July 27, as per the Olympics Hocket Schedule.

On Wednesday, the Paris 2024 hockey schedule for the men’s and women’s competition was announced by the FIH. Team India, the men’s team is placed in group B, and will open their campaign against New Zealand on July 27 at 9PM IST. That match will be followed by the encounter versus Argentina, two days later, at 4.15PM IST.

The third match for the Indians will be a relatively easier one, with our men taking on Ireland, on July 30, at 4.45PM IST. On August 1, the all important match against 2020 champions Belgium will take place. Team India will play their last league match against Australia on August 2.

Interestingly, during the 2020 edition as well, Indian men’s team had opened their campaign against New Zealand only, and went on to win the bronze medal, after a gap of 40 long years.

The playoffs will be played from August 4, while the medals matches for men’s will take place on August 8. Unfortunately, the Indian women’s team could not make it to the Paris 2024 Olympics, after failing at the FIH Olympic qualifiers recently.
