Shardul Thakur has once again become India’s saviour. Apart from taking wickets he has gone on to score huge runs. Despite Musheer’s fifty, Shardul’s innings has been more critical for Mumbai. Shardul’s cenutry proved to be critical as Mumbai despite their collapse took a healthy 100+ run lead.

In the Ranji Trophy Semi Finals, Tamil Nadu batter first. Shardul Thakur proved vital for Mumbai as he went on to scalp 2 crucial wickets. In the end, TN was bowled out for a mere score of 146 runs. Come Mumbai’s batting turn, they too had a collapse.

Musheer Khan recovered the innings with a gritty fifty, but he too was then dispatched. Finally came Shardul Thakur. The ace bowling all-rounder continued his batting masterclass. He pumped up 9 fours and 3 huge sixes to help his side take a 100+ run lead in the game.

During the tea break on Day 2 of the game, Mumbai held a comfortable 102 run lead. Out of which 78 runs was Shardul Thakur’s addition. Mumbai despite having good batters like Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane, faltered. Eyes were on Shreyas Iyer, but he too was a disappointment after managing to score just 3 runs.
