Chennai Super Kings have begun their pre season campaign for IPL 2024. The defending champions of IPL 2023 are slated to commence their IPL 2024 campaign on 22nd March against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Deepak Chahar toiled hard in the nets as he eyes a mega comeback on the team.
The Indian players reached the camp on Friday while the remaining players are slated to arrive in the coming days. Simarjeet Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Ajay Mandal and Deepak Chahar all reported to training.
“The first batch of local (Indian) players arrived on Friday and more are expected to arrive in the coming days,” a Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) official told PTI.
Deepak Chahar Keen for Mega Comeback
Indian all-rounder Deepak Chahar is all set for a mega comeback. After the ODI World Cup, Chahar took part in the India vs Australia T20I series. But he had to leave the team midway owing to his father’s poor health. But with questions on his injury, Chahar is keen to light up IPL 2024.
Last month the all-rounder got his medical clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). With ICC T20 World Cup just 3 months away, it is imperative that he performs well. A good performance in IPL can play a huge role in the India’s squad selection for World Cup. Recently, Chahar lost out on his BCCI Central contract for 2023-24.
However, he declared himself fully fit last month while training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The injury-prone pacer is eyeing a comeback to the national side for the T20 World Cup scheduled in the Caribbean and the USA in June.
