The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are keen to make quite a few administrative changes. The PCB is planning to form an advisory committee who will be instrumental in making key decisions. As per reports, the advisory committee will consist of former Pakistani Cricketers.
Off late the PCB itself has undergone a plethora of changes. Mohsin Naqvi has assumed the role of the chairman of the PCB for a tenure of 3 years. He had to let go of his post of chief minister of Punjab to assume the role in the PCB. And with his appointment comes in the changes that are also needed in the team.
The PCB plans in changing the captain of the team along with the appointment of new coaches in the setup. The advisory committee which will be formed will take an important job in making key decisions. It remains to be seen if the current officials retain their place under the new regime.
Reports in Pakistan claim that the PCB is keen to turn their focus in the domestic circuit. Apart from domestic cricket setup, special focus will also be laid out on security and infrastructure. The plan comes to upgrade the stadiums before Pakistan goes on to host the ICC Champions Trophy, slated for 2025.
Speaking about the ICC Champions Trophy, there is a mega roadblock. India is unwilling to travel to Pakistan. As a result, the ICC Champions Trophy can be adopted in a hybrid model. The similar situation happened in Asia Cup 2023 when Pakistan were the hosts.
