On Deadline Day ahead of the fourth year of The Hundred competition, several players, including Ellyse Perry, Hayley Matthews, and Nat Sciver-Brunt, were retained by their respective teams. Teams in the women’s competition were allowed to retain up to eight players before the tournament.
In the women’s competition, Birmingham Phoenix, who retained both Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine, will have the first opportunity to choose players. The complete lineup of available players for signing in The Hundred Draft will be finalized on Monday, March 4th. The fourth year of The Hundred is set to kick off at The Kia Oval on Tuesday, July 23rd, featuring a double-header between Oval Invincibles and Birmingham Phoenix.
The Oval Invincibles Women’s team, with some positions yet to be confirmed, retained Marizanne Kapp, along with Alice Capsey and Lauren Winfield-Hill. Tash Farrant and Mady Villiers are also set to contribute, alongside Paige Scholfield and Sophia Smale. Ryana MacDonald-Gay is another player in the mix, while the remaining positions are awaiting confirmation.
Similarly, the Southern Brave Women’s team also has some slots to finalize, with Danni Wyatt and Chloe Tryon, an overseas player, among those confirmed. Players like Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, and Freya Kemp are expected to play crucial roles. Additionally, Georgia Adams and Rhianna Southby are part of the squad, with others yet to be confirmed.
For the Welsh Fire Women’s team, overseas players Hayley Matthews and Shabnim Ismail are notable inclusions. They join players like Sophia Dunkley, Tammy Beaumont, and Georgia Elwiss. Sarah Bryce and Freya Davies are also in the mix, while the remaining spots await confirmation.
