KL Rahul’s injury acts as Lifeline for Rajat Patidar for IND vs ENG 5th Test

IND vs ENG Dharamshala Test: Rajat Patidar gets extended stay in Team India after KL Rahul's injury

Rajat Patidar gets a lifeline in the ongoing in IND vs ENG Test series. The absence of KL Rahul from the IND vs ENG 5th Test means Rajat Patidar gets an extended stay. Patidar has been in poor form in past 3 Test matches. On the other hand, the new debutants like Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan has shone brightly.

But KL Rahul’s injury has been a boon for Rajat Patidar. The dependable middle order batter has been injured after the IND vs ENG 1st Test in Hyderabad. He then went on to miss the remaining matches.

Currently, KL Rahul is in UK to undergo a medical examination. When he returns to India, he will need to get a clearance from the NCA. Earlier, Rahul complained of a pain on his right quads and claimed that he was just 90% fit. IN his absence it was Rajat Patidar who was given the chance to play.

“KL Rahul, whose participation in the final Test was subject to fitness, has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala. The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring him and coordinating with specialists in London for further management of his issue,” BCCI said in a statement.

But Rajat Patidar’s form in the 3 Test matches has been lukewarm. The middle order batter has failed to score big runs. Unable to be patient, Patidar has often squandered his wickets cheaply in the previous 6 innings.
