India’s star pacer Mohammed Shami, who has been out of competitive cricket since the team’s appearance in the finals of the World Cup due to an injury, underwent a surgery in London on Monday. The 33-year-old bowler, who plays all formats for the country got his Achilles tendon operated.
Mohammed Shami made this announcement on social media, and said that his recovery process will take some time. He wrote, “Looking forward to getting back on my feet.” In the time he has been out from the Indian team, he has missed the Australia’ T20I series, another one vs Afghanistan, an all-format series vs South Africa, and now the Test series vs England.

Now, with this development, it is evident that Shami won’t be taking part in the IPL 2024, and his participation in the T20 World Cup in the USA, and the Caribbean also looks out of question. As per reports, Shami had sought expert opinion in London, after a surgery was suggested by the NCA Bengaluru.
