The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the WPL 2024 Schedule. The second edition of Women’s Premier League begins on Feb 23 in Bengaluru. A total of 22 matches will be played including the final on March 17. Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals will kick start the tournament in a repeat of the inaugural final.
Unlike the first edition, WPL 2024 will be played in a caravan format. Bengaluru will host the first 11 matches before the caravan moves to Delhi for the remaining 9 league matches, the eliminator and the final.

Who won WPL 2023?
The first edition had all the excitement as anyone could imagine. After a long wait, India women cricketers finally had the chance to showcase their talents. The likes of Shreyanka Patil emerged from WPL. And with focus on earning WPL contracts, it has strengthened women’s domestic format as well.
In the five-team inaugural tournament, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians dominated. Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, Mumbai Indians won their five opening matches. On the other hand, Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals were also excellent, winning six out of eight league matches to finish the league stage at the top.
However, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants had contrasting campaigns. Smirti Mandhana-led RCB Women lost six out of eight matches while Gujarat also lost a same number of games. UP Warriorz finished third and qualified for the Eliminator. However, they lost to Mumbai Indians.
In the final, it was MI Women who dominated, winning the match by 7 wickets to lift the title.
