Spanish cricketer Asjad Butt etched his name in the history books with the fastest century in the European Cricket Series (ECS) T10 cricket. Butt scripted history after slamming a 21-ball century during the 86th T10 match between Catalunya Dragons (CDG) and Sohal Hospitalet (SOH) on February 21.
Chasing 156 in 10 overs, Butt went hammer and tongs as he plundered an unbeaten 27-ball 128 to power Hospitalet to victory in just 5.3 overs.
The opening batter smashed an astonishing 18 sixes and 4 fours in his 27-ball innings, comfortably eclipsing the previous record for the quickest century in a T10 match.
The previous record was held by Marsta CC opener Share Ali who crossed the three-figure mark in just 25 balls in the league in June 2023.
Remarkably, Butt concluded his innings with a staggering strike rate of 474.
