IND vs ENG Ranchi Test: James Anderson likely to be rested for workload management, England ready to unleash him at Dharamsala

James Anderson is likely to be rested for the IND vs ENG Ranchi Test. The veteran pacer won’t be forced to play back to back matches. At the twilight of his career, Anderson will likely be rested for a splendid show in Dharamsala. The green top forcing swing will be the fortress for the 41-year old.

Workload management will be a key issue for James Anderson. As a result both Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum won’t force their hand to play Anderson in back to back Test matches. Earlier, Anderson was benched in the first Test and returned for the second. He played the third game too, only because there was a gap of 10 days between the two Tests.

But the IND vs ENG 4th Test will take place ta Ranchi. A pitch that doesn’t favour swing too much. In such a condition, Ollie Robinson might come and replace the veteran pacer. On the other hand, Mark Wood who too has played back to back games is likely to be rested. Gus Atkinson can come and replace Wood.

“We’ve got a really good squad to pick from. We just need to work out what conditions we’re going to be confronted with, see the health of the army and then make a decision on what we go with,” Brendon McCullum said.

Why Dharamsala For Anderson?

It is probably written in the cards. James Anderson with his vicious swing on a green top in the hilly Himachal will be a treat for Cricket fans. Adding into the workload management factor, it only makes sense.

Further more going by the horses for courses tactics, Anderson would be a perfect fit at Dharamsala. With conditions favouring the English side, the Three Lions will aim to launch a devastating attack on the hosts.
