IPL 2024: KKR bolster pace attack, Dushmantha Chameera replaces Gus Atkinson

IPL 2024: Major boost for Kolkata Knight Riders, Dusmantha Chameera joins Kolkata outfits replacing Gus Atkinson

Kolkata Knight Riders have bolstered their pace attack yet again. The Two time champions have signed Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera. The speedster joins the Kolkata outfits as a replacement from English pacer Gus Atkinson. The Lankan pacer joins the team at his base price of 50 Lakhs.

KKR broke the bank in the IPL 2024 Auction for Mitchell Starc. But now, under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir, the Men in Purple have strengthened their pace attack. With Gus Atkinson not being available, KKR decided to sign the Lankan pacer.

Dushmantha Chameera last featured for Lucknow Super Giants in 2022 where he managed to scalp 9 wickets from 12 games.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have named Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement for England pacer Gus Atkinson for the upcoming edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.Chameera will join KKR at a reserve price of INR 50 Lakh. The Sri Lankan speedster, who is known for his pace, and can trouble the batters with his swing and seam movements, was a part of Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 and 2021 IPL seasons, respectively. He represented Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 season, where he picked up nine wickets from 12 matches.
