Real Kashmir on Sunday notched up another win in the I-League against struggling Churchill Brothers to consolidate their second position om tje league table. However, more than the win, Kashmir striker Gnohere Krizo’s goal from almost the half-way line has got the whole football fraternity talking.
Real Kashmir struggled in the first half against a determined Churchill Brothers. Kashmir’s side kept the attack flowing but the goals eluded them. Just when it looked like Kashmir might get stuck by the Churchill Brothers defence, a moment of magic by Gnohere Krizo turned the tide in Real Kashmir’s favour.
Krizo created the opening goal of Real Kashmir out of almost nothing. A goal kick from Real Kashmir goalkeeper bobbled in the Churchill Brothers’ half before going to Krizo. Krizo had his back towards the goal when the ball reached him. He controlled the ball with two touches on air before turning towards goal and hitting a blind volley. The volley was shot perfectly and it beat the goalkeeper in spite of the keeper having enough time to set himself up.
Kashmir was propelled into the lead with the wonder goal and kept up the momentum before scoring a second goal in the dying minutes to seal the game 2-0.
