Ranji Trophy: Mukesh Kumar shakes off India snub with a six-fer for Bengal against Bihar

After taking four wickets in the first innings, Mukesh proved too hot to handle for Bihar in the second innings too, as he returned with a 10-wicket haul in the match.

Indian speedster Mukesh Kumar on Sunday shone in the Ranji Trophy to grab a six-wicket haul against Bihar. Mukesh, who was left out of India’s squad for the last three Tests against England following an average outing in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test, proved to be Bengal’s saviour.

After an unsuccessful first match on Indian soil, Jasprit Bumrah has defended his pace bowling partner, Mukesh Kumar.

Mukesh was at his best in the Eden Gardens on Sunday. The pacer took six wickets to hand Bengal their second win of the Ranji Trophy season although that did not help Bengal’s cause as they crashed out of the Ranji Trophy.

Mukesh, who failed to impress during the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in the absence of Mohammed Siraj. The bowler took only a single wicket in the two innings and was swiftly shown the door following the return of Mohammed Siraj.

He returned to the Bengal team in their last Ranji Trophy group stage game. It proved to be pivotal for Bengal, as the bowler helped Bengal in winning the tie by an innings and 204 runs.

After taking four wickets in the first innings, Mukesh proved too hot to handle for Bihar in the second innings too, as he returned with a 10-wicket haul in the match.

Mukesh started the third day of the match by sending the first four batters of Bihar back to the pavillion. He took the important wicket of middle-order batter Paramjeet Singh to end Bihar’s hopes. Mukesh completed the sixfer with the wicket of Ravi Kumar.
