Six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy reveals suffering from cancer

Since retiring in 2013, Sir Chris has launched new careers, including in motorsport, where he competed as a Le Mans racing driver.

Six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy revealed on his Instagram account that he has been diagnosed with cancer, he former track cyclist, knighted in 2008, shared that he is currently undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy, and despite the diagnosis last year, he currently feels fine.

“I had hoped to keep the diagnosis private but my hand has been forced,” revealed Sir Chris Hoy. He described the shock of the diagnosis, emphasizing that he had no prior symptoms. While not disclosing the specific type of cancer,

Sir Chris expressed gratitude for the support received and commended the medical professionals for their care. He added, “Whilst I’m thankful for any support, I’d like to deal with this privately.”

Despite the challenges, Sir Chris remains optimistic and focused on his work, including preparations for the Paris Olympics in July.
