Ace Indian shooter Manu Bhaker had to settle for a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol at the ISSF World Cup 2024 in Granada, Spain on Friday. The 2020 Olympian Bhaker, qualified for the finals with a scored of 576, and later went on to shoot 215.1, to lay her hands on the medal. Meanwhile, it was Klaudia Bres of Poland who got the gold with a score of 236.2.
Mexico’s Andrea Ibarra also shot the same score as Bres, but the former had to contend with a silver after losing the playoff. Unfortunately, despite topping the qualifying round, India’s Rhythm Sangwan was the first to be eliminated from the final, finishing eighth with a score of 111.4.
On the other hand, in the men’s 10m air pistol event, Indian shooters came up with a below-par performance. Sarabjot Singh, Ravinder Singh and Ujjawal Malik, failed to enter the finals.

Meanwhile, India has sent a 34-member contingent to the ISSF World Cup in Granada, who will compete in the senior and junior events.
