England batter Jonny Bairstow‘s disappointing run in the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series continued as he registered a 4-ball duck in the India vs England third Test in Rajkot on Saturday.
Bairstow, who is yet to score a fifty on this tour, had an opportunity to find form on a flat Rajkot deck. However, the batter failed to get off the mark as he was trapped in front off Kuldeep Yadav’s delivery.
Bairstow set an unwanted record with his duck against India. The 34-year-old surpassed former Pakistan bowler Danish Kaneria to became player with most ducks against India in Test cricket.
Jonny Bairstow’s duck in Rajkot was his eight duck against the hosts in red-ball cricket.
Players with most ducks against India in Test cricket:
8* -Jonny Bairstow
7 – Danish Kaneria
7 – Nathan Lyon
6 – James Anderson
6 – Shane Warne
6 – Mervyn Dillon
Bairstow so far has an underwhelming Test series, scoring just 98 runs in the 5 innings he has played so far.
