All-rounder Shardul Thakur, who has been dropped from India Test squad, has roared back in form with a 6-wicket haul in Mumbai’s ongoing Ranji Trophy clash against Assam.
Thakur grabbed six wickets by giving away just 21 runs as Assam got bundled out for mere 84 in the first innings.
Notably, Thakur was dropped from the Test squad after an ordinary show in the South Africa tour where failed to make a big impact with either bat or ball.
After captain Ajinkya Rahane opted to bowl first at home, Thakur along with Mohit Awasthi, and Tushar Deshpande ran all over Assam’s batting line-up.
Tushar Deshpande and Mohit Awasthi took one wicket each. Meanwhile, spinner Shams Mulani picked two wickets by conceding eight runs.
For Assam, middle-order batter Abhishek Thakuri was the top scorer with 31. Apart from him, only Sahil Jain and Abdul Qureshi managed to reach double figures. Sahil contributed 12 runs, while Abdul added 15 runs.
