Australia all-rounder Annabel Sutherland is churning out exceptional performances with the bat, and ball, in the only Test against South Africa women, at Perth. On Friday, the 22-year-old Victoria player smashed her maiden double ton in Tests, slamming 26 fours and two sixes, en route her landmark innings.
Interestingly, this was Sutherland’s second Test century in five matches, who now averages over 70 in the format. If that wasn’t enough, she played a huge role in dismissing hapless South Africa for a paltry 76. The medium pacer ended up returning with figures of 3/19.
Overall Double Centurions in Women’s Cricket
Sutherland became only the ninth women’s player to score a double ton in Tests, and fifth from Australia to achieve the feat. One Pakistani, one New Zealander, and an Indian are in the list too. Here is the full list of all the double tons:
Michelle Goszko (AUS)
Kiran Baluch (PAK)
KE Flavell (NZ)
J Broadbent (AUS)
Annabel Sutherland (AUS)
Tammy Beaumont (ENG)
Mithali Raj (IND)
