Pakistani stars considering retirement after NOC hurdles from PCB

With concerns mounting, players are reportedly considering a meeting with the newly appointed PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, to seek redressal.

A brewing discontent among Pakistan cricket team stars threatens to turn into an exodus, as obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to participate in international franchise leagues faces hurdles. Notably, a report suggests that players are exploring alternatives, including early retirement and freelancing, due to frustrations with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Sources revealed to Cricket Pakistan that during the New Zealand T20I series, players raised the NOC issue with the PCB, only to be directed towards Team Director Mohammad Hafeez.

However, Hafeez reportedly deflected responsibility back to the board, leaving players confused and frustrated.

Early retirement for Pakistan Cricket Team stars?

This uncertainty has prompted some players to contemplate early retirement or a shift towards freelancing in international leagues. Additionally, discussions during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) hint at potential refusal of future central contracts in protest.

With concerns mounting, players are reportedly considering a meeting with the newly appointed PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, to seek redressal.

It remains to be seen how the PCB addresses these concerns and whether it can prevent a potential talent drain from Pakistani cricket.
