The India vs England Test is in the balance as we go onto the third Test in Rajkot. The riveting 5-match series has seen two closely contested matches in Hyderabad and Vizag. The contest between two of the best Test teams going around has been aided perfectly by sporting wickets.
The pitches so far have had everything. We have seen batters score big (Ollie Pope and Yashasvi Jaiswal), spinners have a great run (Tom Hartley), and pacers get assistance as well (Jasprit Bumrah and James Anderson).
Before the IND vs ENG 3rd Test kickoffs, former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan expressed his desire to see a balanced pitch in Rajkot as well. While talking with JioCinema about the pitches so far in the series and how they have provided a great spectacle for everyone so far, he said:
“I hope the pitch is on similar lines to the one in Hyderabad and Vizag. You’ll see some reverse swing as well. And on the fourth and fifth days, you’ll have the spinners dominating. If that is the pattern, it will make for a nice viewing experience for all the spectators, and the fans will enjoy it.”
Coming into the series, everyone thought that we’d see square turned, but we have witnessed two balanced pitches that have brought batters and bowlers into the game. If we take England’s playing XI into consideration, one can expect a balanced pitch in Rajkot as well.
