Ahead of IPL 2024, Punjab Kings will begin their preparatory camp at new Mullanpur Stadium from February 21st. The stadium has been undergoing reconstruction since the past decade. The stadium has missed a few deadlines and faces another ahead of the IPL 2024 season.
With a special team from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) scheduled to visit the venue this coming week in preparation for the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mullanpur’s recently built Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium is gearing up for a big week.
The floodlit stadium features chic locker rooms, a well-stocked media center, contemporary lounges, and turnstiles. The digital screen and PCA offices should be installed shortly, and some work is currently being done on the main gate.
PCA secretary Dilsher Khanna said, “The stadium is almost complete. There are a few things which are being put in place. The stadium has been hosting domestic matches for a long time now. We are ready to host the BCCI team and take their inputs as well. We are hoping to host the upcoming IPL matches in Mullanpur and give local fans another venue to enjoy the sport.”
Punjab Kings will be having a week-long camp at the stadium from February 21 to 28. If all goes according to plan, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium will become home to Punjab Kings (PBKS).
