Over the years, Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen several players who turned into stars after performing well in the IPL. On contrary, there are some names who have quietly done the job for their respective franchise but never got the same recognition as others. Let us take a look at some of the unsung heroes in IPL history.

Rajat Bhatia

Delhi-based all-rounder Rajat Bhatia represented three franchises in his IPL career including Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders. Overall, Bhatia picked up a total of 63 wickets from 80 matches in the IPL with a respectable economy of 7.38 and strike rate of 21.58.

Manoj Tiwary

Manoj Tiwary played for different franchises in the IPL from Delhi Capitals to KKR, and Kings XI Punjab to Rising Pune Supergiants. In his 98 IPL games, Manoj Tiwary scored 1695 at an average of 28.65.

Siddharth Trivedi 

Pacer Siddharth Trivedi wickets were crucial to Rajasthan Royals winning the inaugural edition of the tournament, and he continued to be an important member of the Rajasthan Royals. In his IPL career, he scalped 65 wickets from 76 matches.

Shadab Jakati

A left-arm spinner from Goa, Shadab Jakati played for Chennai Super Kings for four seasons between 2009 and 2012. In his IPL stint, he took 45 wickets and was a key player in CSK’s back-to-back IPL triumphs in 2010 and 2011.

Pravin Tambe

Pravin Tambe complete our list of unsung heroes in IPL. He made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut at the age of 41 for Rajasthan Royals in the 2013 season. During his limited stay in IPL, Tambe picked up a brilliant hat-trick against Kolkata Knight Riders. He was also the leading wicket-taker in the Champions League T20 in 2013.
