Defending champions of WPL, Mumbai Indians have started their preparations for the upcoming edition. Mumbai Indians’ WPL head coach Charlotte Edwards welcomed players and gave an overall perspective, before hitting the nets ahead of WPL 2024.
“It has been really lovely the last couple of days. Getting to know the new players and catching up with players from the last season has been great. We have seven players in the camp already. They have had lots of cricket already. It has been a nice start so far,” said head coach Edwards.
As the players arrive at the camp in batches, Yastika Bhatia, Amanjot Kaur, Humairaa Kaazi, Saika Ishaque, Jintimani Kalita, Sajana Sajeevan, Keerthana Balakrishnan, Priyanka Bala and Fatima Jaffer have checked in, with personal assessments and customised practice in place.
WPL 2024 will kick off with defending champions Mumbai Indians facing last year’s finalists Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru. Like last year, five teams are competing in WPL 2024. Besides Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz will also be in the fray.
All matches until March 4 will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi will host the remaining matches of the tournament.
