Some things in cricket are just blown out of proportion. Ever since former South Africa player AB de Villiers revealed that Virat Kohli was going to become a father for the second time, social media has been abuzz. The availability of Kohli in the third and fourth Tests has become a topic of national discussion.
The former India skipper, Kohli has already missed the first two Tests, and had opted out citing personal reasons. But as per a latest report in Dainik Bhaskar, de Villiers has now made a U-turn, regarding Kohli’s continued absence from team. In an interaction, Mr 360, de Villiers made it clear, that he had given false information regarding the India player, and he is not becoming a father.
“Family comes first, as I said earlier on my Youtube channel. I also made a terrible mistake at the same time sharing false information, which was not true at all. So I just think, whatever is best for Virat, and his family comes first. No one knows what is happening there. All I can do is wish him well,” de Villiers said.
“The whole world that follow Virat and enjoys his cricket, must just wish him well. Whatever the reason is for this break, hopefully he comes back stronger and better.”
