Pakistan batter Babar Azam on Thursday penned an emotional farewell note to Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) side Rangpur Riders ahead of his departure from the T20 franchise league. Pakistan Cricket Board provided Babar and other players from Pakistan with the NOC until February 06 but denied extension ahead of the start of PSL.
Babar will now head to Pakistan and will join Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League. He had an excellent stint in BPL 2024. Babar scored 251 runs at an average of 50.20 with 2 half-centuries and a top score of 62.
Ahead of his departure, Babar penned a beautifully crafted note. He expressed gratitude to his BPL team and backing them to become the champions of BPL 2024.
“Dear Rangpur Riders Family, To the champions, I’ve had an incredible time with each one of you. My heart is full of gratitude for the love, support, guidance, and care you’ve all shown. A sincere thank you to the whole team. The selfless teamwork displayed throughout this tournament has truly made a difference.
“I’m also deeply thankful to the coaching staff for everything. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
“Let’s keep our focus and bring the cup home, brothers. I’m wishing you all the best. I’m confident our paths will cross again in the future.
With all my love and respect.”
