No communication from Kohli about his comeback, BCCI official reveals

With the five-match series currently tied 1-1, Kohli's return could provide a significant boost to the Indian team.

A cloud of uncertainty hangs over Virat Kohli return to the Indian Test Team as the star batter remains mum on his availability for the ongoing series against England. With the third Test set to begin on February 15th in Rajkot, the BCCI selectors face a dilemma as they prepare to pick the squad for the remaining matches.

Despite missing the first two Tests due to personal reasons, Virat Kohli hasn’t communicated his return date to the board or selectors. A BCCI official confirmed this to Indian Express, stating, “Virat will decide when he wants to make a comeback. He hasn’t informed us till now, but whenever he decides to play, he will be included in the team.”

This lack of communication adds to the mystery surrounding Virat Kohli absence. While the BCCI had acknowledged his need for a break due to “personal situations” before the series began, his extended silence and reported presence in England with his family have fueled speculation.

When will Virat Kohli return?

With the five-match series currently tied 1-1, Kohli’s return could provide a significant boost to the Indian team. However, the selectors are left in a bind, unsure of whether to gamble on his availability or finalize the squad without him.

As the clock ticks down towards the third Test, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli to break his silence and provide some much-needed clarity on his cricketing future. Will he answer the call of the nation and return to the field, or will his personal commitments keep him away for longer? Only time will tell.
