Team India skipper Rohit Sharma applauded the performance of the side’s youngsters as they picked up a 106-run win in IND vs ENG 2nd Test. Admitting that the young batters failed to convert good starts, the Hitman said that he was proud of the young side to come up victorious against a team like England.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rohit hailed Bumrah’s performance and noted that the team’s overall performance mattered more than anything. He said that it was important to give confidence to the youngsters. Admitting that it would take them time to be spot on in the red-ball format, Sharma said that it was instrumental that they went out and played freely.
“If I have to point anything, lot of the batters got starts but couldn’t get big score. But I understand they’re young and new to the game. Important for us to give them confidence. Very proud of such a young squad to come up against a team like that. Lot of the guys are quite young in terms of playing this form of the game. It’ll take some time to be absolutely spot on. Want them to play freely without any pressure,” Rohit Sharma said.
