Out or Not out? Zak Crawley’s LBW dismissal sparks DRS debate during Vizag Test

Zak Crawley's LBW dismissal via DRS started a big debate on social media over whether the technology got it wrong during Day 4 of Vizag Test.

A DRS review involving England opener Zak Crawley has once again sparked a DRS debate during the IND vs ENG 2nd Test at Vizag on Monday.

During the 42nd over of England’s innings, Crawley was trapped in front off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav. However, the on-field umpire gave it not-out and after a brief discussion, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma reluctantly took the review.

It initially looked like the impact was outside but the ball tracking, surprisingly showed all red which forced the on-field umpire to overturn his decision.

The screenshots showed that only 2.5 stumps were visible when the ball made contact with the Crawley’s leg.

The controversial DRS call left the England dressing room in shock as well. Twitter too started to debate over the DRS and whether the technology got it wrong.

Crawley’s wicket turned out to be the turning point as England lost their way and lost quick wickets to put India on top. The hosts need 3 more wickets to level the series, while England need over 150 runs to make it 2-0.
