Manish Pandey powers Karnataka to last-gasp win
Chasing a tricky 226 in Surat, Karnataka looked shaky, losing wickets at regular intervals. But Manish Pandey, showcasing his experience, anchored the innings with a composed 67* (121b).
He found crucial partnerships with Sharath Srinivas (23) and Vysakh Vijayakumar (38) to keep Karnataka in the hunt.
Despite losing Vijayakumar and Vidwath Kaverappa late, Pandey kept his nerve and saw his team home with Vasuki Koushik (1*). Railways’bowler Akash Pandey bagged a five-wicket haul in a losing effort.
Tripura Crush Gujarat in Ranji Trophy 2024
Tripura continued their dominance in Ahmedabad, adding 10 runs to their overnight score before declaring at 343.
Their bowlers then ran riot, bundling out Gujarat for a paltry 161. Medium pacer Sridam Paul and left-arm spinner Parvez Sultan shared six wickets each to dismantle the Gujarat batting.
Opener Siddharth Desai (47) and Umang Kumar (37) offered the only resistance. This win propelled Tripura to the third spot in Group C.
