No regrets for Zak Crawley despite his dismissal contributing to England’s downfall in Vizag

England were cruising at 114/1 before Crawley's wicket changed the complexion of the game on Day 2 of the Vizag Test.

England opener Zak Crawley doesn’t regret attempting aggressive approach despite his dismissal contributing to England’s downfall on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag.

England were cruising on the back of Zak Crawley’s blazing fifty before batter’s departure opened gates for Jasprit Bumrah who then ripped through England’s batting line-up.

Crawley scored 76 off 78 balls before mistiming Axar Patel’s delivery towards backpoint fielder.

“I wasn’t happy to get out when I did but I’d definitely do the same thing again. If that one doesn’t turn and I hit him over his head for six then suddenly he’s under a lot of pressure and I can milk him for two hours or whatever. There’s risk and reward there”, Crawley said after the end of day’s play.

“If I started doubting myself in those situations and not back my instincts then I would revert back to the player I was a couple of years ago”, the England opener further added.

England were 114/1 when Crawley got dismissed and then pacer Bumrah bowled an inspiring spell to bundle out the visitors for 253, giving a deficit of 143.

“You have to hold your hand up sometimes and say that’s a fantastic spell in these conditions. We didn’t do anything differently to what we’ve done in the last two years”, Crawley said.
