After being handed a 10-year sentence for leaking state secrets and a 14-year sentence for misusing government funds last week, the former Pakistan skipper has been sentenced to 7 years in jail for unlawful marriage.
The World Cup winner was Pakistan’s 22nd Prime Minister and was in power from August 18, 2018 to April 10, 2022. However, since he’s been booted out, Imran Khan has landed in heaps of legal trouble.
The cricketer turned politician has been labeled a traitor and was sentenced to a decade in jail on Tuesday. However, the following day, that count was increased to 24 years in jail following a ruling that claimed that Imran Khan failed to deposit £19 million given by the British government and instead gave it to businessmen.
Now, his sentence has been added to a total of 31 years after his marriage to Bushra Khan was ruled unlawful. Bushra and Imran got married in 2018, in what was the famed cricketer’s third marriage.
Bushra has also been sentenced to 7 years in jail, and both have been fined 500,000 PKR ($1,800), as per ARY News.
