Joseph was struck on his toe by a yorker from Mitchell Starc near the end of play on Day 3. With his toe burst open, Shamar had to retire hurt. However, he returned the very next day as he steamrolled through Australia’s line-up.

West Indies clinched a nail-biting win at the Gabba in the AUS vs WI 2nd Test after Joseph starred with the ball yet again. This victory marked the Windies’ first victory on Australian soil in 27 years as they leveled the two-match series 1-1.

Joseph single-handedly ensured Windies’ historic win at the Gabba in the 2nd Test. The West Indian bowler will also miss the ongoing ILT20 for Dubai Capitals due to this injury.
