IND vs ENG: Bashir recalls special moment on debut ft. Rohit Sharma

Speaking to talkSPORT, the England spinner called the Indian skipper’s dismissal as a ‘very very special moment’ for him. He went on to lavish praise on Rohit, calling him a great player of spin. Bashir reflected on his journey from just six first class games to the national side at the age of 20.

“If you were to tell me that two years ago, I would laugh,” Bashir told talkSPORT. “It was a very special moment receiving my Test cap and for me to get Rohit Sharma as my first wicket was very, very special.”

He further said that it was a difficult pitch to bowl on as it had nothing much to offer. He appreciated his fellow bowlers for managing to grab six wickets. He added that they are hoping to get an early breakthrough on Day 2 and start batting. Bashir finished the day with figures of 2-100 from 28 overs.
