The India U19 team has been in blistering form in the ongoing U19 World Cup. In their Super Six match against Nepal U19 on Friday, the Indians displayed an immaculate batting performance. Captain Uday Saharan and batter Sachin Dhas scored centuries each to take the Indian total to 297 after deciding to bat first in the IND U19 vs NEP U19 super six fixture.
India were in a spot of bother after winning the toss and deciding to bat first. The Indian openers departed early as underdogs Nepal looked on course to provide a major upset. The Indians were reeling at 62/3 at one point of time before the magical performances from Saharan and Sachin. Both batters stood strong and played according to the merits of the balls as Nepal’s early breakthroughs failed to provide them with any added advantage. The duo stitched together a partnership of 217 runs, taking the game beyond Nepal’s reach.
Captain Uday Saharan played the anchor’s role, scoring runs at runner-ball while Dhas accelerated kept the flow of runs going. Saharan scored 100 of 107 balls with the help of nine boundaries. Sachin Dhas on the other hand was the aggressor, scoring 116 of 101 balls, hitting 11 boundaries and 3 over boundaries. The duo’s solid stand helped India reach a respectable total, and it will be a tough task for Nepal to overcome India’s score when they start their chase.
