Struggling Shubman Gill gets hour-long batting lesson from Rahul Dravid in Vizag

Shubman Gill is enduring a poor run of form in Test cricket and is under scrutiny. Vizag Test could be his last chance before Virat Kohli returns.

The India Cricket Team had a gruelling training session in Vizag ahead of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test. Desperate for revenge, team India are ready to go all guns blazing against the Three Lions. One such batter who hasn’t fared well off late is Shubman Gill. Head coach Rahul Dravid kept a close eye on the youngster, as the Baby GOAT had an extended practice session.

Runs have shied away from Shubman Gill in Test cricket. The star batter hasn’t managed a single fifty in his last 9 Test matches. Adding more to his misery, Gill has been extremely volatile batting at number 3 in Test cricket.

With India eyeing revenge, it is imperative that Shubman Gill performs well in the Vizag Test. The youngster was among the first batch of batters who hit the nets early. He practiced a couple of throwdowns early in hi session. Following which Gill showed his fine batting by hitting the spinners.

Rahul Dravid Keeps Close Eye On Shubman Gill

Gill has faced trouble equally while facing pacers and spinners in red ball cricket. But with Virat Kohli expected to be back in the 3rd Test, Gill’s spot is in danger. It is currently perform or perish for young explosive batter.

However, midway into the session, coach Rahul Dravid kept a clos eye on Gill. The batter was bowled by Axar Patel. The classy leggie trapped Gill and completely deceived him with a flighted delivery. Dravid immediately approached the batter and gave him some crucial tips.

After listening to the advice, Gill went on to to take big strides while defending shots. After a tiresome 45-minute session, he went for a short break. After which he returned to face Ashwin.
