Indian Street Premier League sells 6 teams for whopping Rs 1165 Cr

The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL T10) will kick off on March 2, 2024, with six teams (Srinagar, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata) playing for the title.

The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), a new T10-style tennis ball tournament, has sold six teams for a record Rs 1165 crore. Sachin Tendulkar and BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar backed the tournament and announced the record bid today.

Sachin Tendulkar, who serves as an investor and core committee member of the Street Premier League (ISPL), said:

“I remember we used to play in Sahitya Sahwas and we had to make sure that we played straight drives in order to not hit the window panes on either side of the street. That is how my straight drive developed at a very young age.”

“Playing games at Shivaji Park and then going and playing at Wankhede Stadium for the first time, it was an amazing transformation for me. I used to initially play with older people who were my brother’s age or even older and compete with them and assess myself.”
