Karnataka Ranji skipper Mayank Agarwal has filed a police complaint suspecting foul play. The India batter accidentally drank acid thinking it to be water on his flight. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Tripura and admitted in the ICU. Reports claim that Mayank is stable.

Mayank Agarwal and Karnataka team were scheduled to leave Tripura to New Delhi, from which they would travel to Rajkot to face Railways. However, the flight after take-off returned back after Mayank fell ill.

“Mayank Agarwal, an international cricketer, while sitting on a flight saw a pouch in front of him and thinking of it as water, drank it. He had swelling and ulcers in his mouth. His condition is normal, and his vitals are stable. His manager has made a complaint. We are registering the complaint and will investigate the matter,” says SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar K.

Reports claim that he drank a liquid from a pouch in front of him accidentally thinking it to be water. However, he stopped drinking when it didn’t taste like water. He complained of burning sensation on his mouth and throat and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

Agarwal won’t feature in the next Ranji Trophy clash against Railways. However, his teammates will reach Rajkot and prepare for their upcoming encounter.
